Cleared status
Whether a transaction has cleared your bank account.
Cleared
A cleared transaction has posted to your bank and appears on your statement. Mark transactions cleared when you confirm them against your bank activity — during reconciliation or inline on the register.
Uncleared
An uncleared transaction is recorded in Big Picture Money but not yet confirmed against the bank. Pending checks, recent card charges, or future-dated entries are often uncleared until they post.
Reconciled vs cleared
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Cleared | You have confirmed the transaction against bank activity; can be toggled anytime |
| Reconciled | The transaction was included in a completed reconciliation session; persists after the session closes |
Reconciled transactions are typically also cleared. Reconciled status is set when you finish a reconciliation — not from the ordinary edit form.
