Export and backup
Settings → Export is where you take copies of your data out of Big Picture Money — either a full CSV export for spreadsheets and archives, or an encrypted backup of your data file. A short list of recent exports helps you confirm what you saved and when.
What this Settings category covers
| Task | How-to |
|---|---|
| Export everything as CSV files in a ZIP | Export all your data |
| Make an encrypted copy of your data file | Back up your data file |
| Review recent exports | Review export history |
CSV exports are not encrypted. Prefer a backup when you want a secure copy of the database itself.
Prerequisites
- Your data file is unlocked
- You know whether you need a readable CSV archive or an encrypted backup
Open Export settings
- Open Settings from the left navigation or the title bar Account menu.
- Select Export in the settings sidebar.
- Choose Export all data, Back up, or review the recent-exports list as needed.
Ask Chat about export or activity
