Here are the features and fixes that landed in Big Picture Money 2026.1.13.

Features​

Spending​

  • Payees at a leaf category. When you drill to a leaf category, the chart and legend show payee / merchant shares. You see the top 10 by amount plus Other, not one 100% category slice.

Transfer review​

  • Clearer Suggested links. Each suggestion shows dates and payees for both legs. Click a row to open both transactions in the side panel so you can compare before Accept or Dismiss.

Bug fixes​

Sync and import​

  • Bank payee text no longer fills Notes. Sync and file import keep the payee on the payee field. Merchants such as IC* INSTACART get category suggestions again instead of staying Uncategorized.

AI / Chat​

  • Chat knows today’s date. The assistant prompt includes the current date.
  • Chat account balances match Home. Balance questions use the same preferred balances as the Home Account balances widget, not raw account cents.

Spending​

  • Transfer Out and Credit Card Payment stay out of spending. With Include transfers and payments off, those categories are excluded from the chart and totals (not only linked transfers between your accounts).
  • Parent-only spend is labeled clearly. Drilling into a category labels parent-only spend as Category (general) so it is not confused with subcategory totals.
  • Other expands to its categories. Clicking Other expands the chart and legend to the categories in that slice.
